Forman School Summer Program 2024

July 30, 2024

A Month of Learning, Fun, and Growth

Forman’s Summer Program, a coed boarding and day camp, ran from July 1st to 26th. Students entering grades 7-11 explored their unique learning styles by attending three classes each morning, including Reading, Metacognitive Strategies & Executive Functioning, Math Comprehension, and Writing. In tight-knit settings, they developed effective and tactical classroom and study strategies, learned self-advocacy, and gained lasting confidence in their abilities.

Afternoons were dedicated to students discovering new talents and interests. On our 125-acre campus and at local facilities, students participated in a variety of activities, such as fishing, kayaking, hiking, painting, ceramics, tennis, fitness, and boatbuilding.

During Forman's Summer Program, students take three focused courses with individually tailored instructions.

Evenings were filled with community events that nurtured personal growth, a positive mindset, and interpersonal skills. Some weekly events included Mindful Mondays and Competitive Wednesdays. Additionally, young alumni who served as Summer Program Counselors shared personal stories of where they are today and their Forman experiences during counselor chats.

The fun continued on weekends with on-and-off campus activities, which included a night at a local baseball stadium to see the Hartford Yard Goats in action and a day at Lake Compounce amusement park.
