The Forman Student

Forman School is dedicated to supporting students in grades 9-12 or a post-graduate (PG) year with language-based learning differences and attention deficits by offering customized education that targets specific challenges in reading, writing, spelling, and math. By emphasizing executive functioning development and using research-based, multisensory teaching methods, the school fosters an inclusive environment with small class sizes and individualized instruction.
Forman carefully considers each candidate to determine a student’s readiness to access the curriculum and instruction our teachers are trained to provide.

Forman students share some combination of the following characteristics:

  • Average to above-average intellectual abilities

  • Diagnosis of dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, auditory processing delay or disorders, and/or language and reading comprehension struggles

  • A learning difference in combination with ADHD/attention issues

  • Executive functioning deficits

  • No significant social or emotional needs

  • Nonverbal learning disabilities

  • Autism spectrum disorders

  • Pervasive developmental disorder

  • Developmental delay

  • Social (Pragmatic) Communication Disorder
