Collin Kastl ’27 completed over 300 hours of community service this past summer as he works toward becoming an Eagle Scout. The project Collin chose to complete involved scanning around 20,000 property documents dating back to the 1800s for the Glencoe Historical Society in Glencoe, IL. After scanning, he uploaded the documents into a public database for anyone to access.
“Ms. (Karen) Ettleson (Co-President of the Glencoe Historical Society) told me about how she wanted to do this project in 2019, but she didn't have the resources to do so,” Collin says. “I volunteered to help out.”
Collin says he is proud of his hard work and its impact on the historical society and local community.
“I also loved to see everyone’s happy faces after the project was completed,” he adds.
