Forman re-launched the Athletic Leadership Council, whose mission is to promote and encourage spirit and leadership in the school community through athletics, this fall. The council encourages a positive student-athlete image on and off campus by creating positive involvement in athletics through participation and support of our teams, developing leadership skills, and giving back to the Forman community and beyond through service.
“Our student-athletes are very important stakeholders, and they deserve as much a voice as anyone when it comes to the Forman Athletic program,” says John Strawson, Director of Athletics. “If we are building the leaders of tomorrow, then they deserve to start today. In this community, everyone’s voice matters.”
The following students have been selected to serve on the 2022-2023 Athletic Leadership Council:
Nicole Clarke ’24
Erin Dowd ’23
Henry Dransfield ’24
Will Dupont ’24
Ryan Fox ’24
AJ Jimeno ’24
Lucy Kramer ’23
Alice Lever ’25
Jeannette Orio ’25
Merritt Seymour ’23
The new Athletic Leadership Council may still be in its infancy stages; however, it has already made some notable contributions to the Forman and local communities. So far, it has hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness t-shirt fundraiser and donated the proceeds to the Hungerford Breast Health Center in Torrington, CT. The council is also planning a pep rally for the near future.
The faculty representatives on the council include Science Department Chair Mackey Corrigan, World Languages and Promethean Program Teacher Jeoffrey Langill, Assistant Athletic Director Craig Lombardi, World Languages Chair Hayley McGovern, Science Teacher Kramer Peterson, Cognition and Learning Teacher Sara Reilly, and Athletic Director John Strawson.
